Hello,
I’ve encountered an issue after updating to the latest Windsurf version. When I’m typing in the Cascade chat input, pressing Ctrl+A does not select all text in the chat input. Instead, it selects the current open file in the editor. Similarly, Ctrl+Z does not undo my text in the Cascade input — it undoes changes in the editor instead.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Open Windsurf IDE (latest version).
  2. Open the Cascade panel.
  3. Start typing text in the Cascade chat input.
  4. Press Ctrl+A — nothing is selected in the chat input.
  5. Press Ctrl+Z — undo affects the editor, not the chat input.
Observed Behavior:
  • Ctrl+A selects files in the editor rather than selecting text in Cascade chat.
  • Ctrl+Z undoes changes in the editor, not in the Cascade input box.
Expected Behavior:
While typing in the Cascade chat input, Ctrl+A should select all text in that input, and Ctrl+Z should undo text in the Cascade input.
Additional Notes:
  • The problem does not occur when I switch my keyboard layout to English (US) — shortcuts work normally in Cascade chat.
  • I tested this on multiple machines and the behavior is the same.
  • I also experienced similar issues previously in another IDE (Trae), and it now appears in Windsurf as well.
Environment:
  • Windsurf Editor (latest)
  • Cascade panel
  • Keyboard layout: Thai (issue happens), English (works normally)
