Everytime I open my projects, the cascade sidebar is open by default, and takes 5-10 seconds to load before I can close it. Please add a setting to make this closed by default, especially when you open a project in Windsurf

After updating to version 1.8.0, the right sidebar completely stopped working and won’t open at all. Damn.

This seems to be fixed for me now. It wasn't in the release notes, but Cascade no longer opens on startup anymore, which is great.

I found that you can close it quicker by clicking the Cascade icon in the top right navbar instead of waiting for the X to appear, but it's still annoying AND disabling Open Cascade on Reload in Advanced settings has NEVER worked for me, not just when opening new folders but also not when reloading the entire app.

As Rohan Phadte says, do take a look at that setting! As a caveat, the setting currently applies only when you reload your current window, and not when you open new folders. We'll update the setting scope in the next release to make the experience more consistent.

This is a setting! Go to Windsurf Advanced settings

Rohan Phadte I have it off and when you start the app it still opens or when you open a new project. Also if you're offline there is no close button
