I've had a lot of problems, I managed to get around almost all of them, I'll give you some tips
I have been a developer for 5 years, I have already found several errors, and this only shows how unstable windsurfing is and a poorly optimized product, with things that should be focused on to fix, before adding new functionalities. Things that when I used the cursor, I couldn't find, but I changed because of the costs

I personally like windsurfing a lot, but it's hard to keep enjoying it if a new problem appears every week
- if you are having a problem with the windsurfing terminal controls, where some run and others don't, it could be 2 problems:
1.1 - the command is not running and is in a “locked” state
- I solved this by changing some windsurfing settings, for this, you will have to click on the gear, and then on “Editor Settings” or editor settings, so on the page that opens, in the upper right corner, there will be an “Open Settings” option, there you will have to paste some commands to configure your terminal/cmd/powrshell, which is where the commands run
To do this, I recommend calling a GPT-5 to help you configure, explain well and test with free models
1.2 - the command simply has no logs (texts to indicate what is happening)
- this is very easy to solve, there is a configuration in Windsuef where you can set rules for the model to follow, you can always set it to enter logs, so you can know if it is running or not
or you can just ask him to do it there
- you can't cancel AI commands
2.1 - this is a bit more annoying, it may be a poorly done configuration, to fix this, you will have to click on the gear, and then on “Editor Settings” or, editor settings, with this, you will search for “terminal” and then you will return some configuration that you made in the terminal to its default, and you will test with the free templates
- delay in responding, when you say that it may take a while or when you tell me to send a message to restart the model
3.1 - this is a bit more annoying, I already ignored several of these messages, and most of them didn't hurt me, because soon after the model was still there, and it's normal when you're using models that think a lot, so try ignoring some to see if they don't come back
3.2 - in searches, when you ask him to search for something on the web, and he keeps endlessly watching, you have to disable the WEB search function and tell him to do something much more specific and simple. This error is probably because the search is too wide or a loop at the time of the search
- constant errors in any order
4.1 - if you are a developer, and you use git, and you use several typing packages, caching, etc., add a .gitignore, and add all these files there, the template from time to time, look at these files for context, and because of the strange texts, it crashes by itself

5.1 - if you have an mcp turned on, keep an eye out if disabling it may not improve performance or reduce errors

6.1 - if you haven't noticed any windsurfing updates so far, download the new version from the site and install it, even with the other one installed

Come on, some more things I ran into over time
- is there mcp that works only with specific models, or 1.1 - they have errors, this is normal, you can quickly enable and disable them through the mcp panel, test with free templates
- the template doesn't look at all files for context and creates incorrect code
2.1 - this is in the windsurfing documentation, apparently between your code and the model, there is another model that simplifies your request, then passing the modified request to the AI in question. To solve this, quote the folders or code that it is for it to verify, or if not, make a single request, to verify and explain EVERYTHING in the code base so that you understand what is happening (even if you already know) to create a general context
- VERY stupid model over time
3.1 - this is a common problem, after a while using it, it really gets dumb, you're going to have to start a new chat, there's no way, so as not to waste a lot of time, play a prompt so she can understand everything in the code base, and then another one telling her what was done, what remains to be done, and your pain, only after that, continue
- there's no way to close the Cascade command
4.1 - there is a button in Cascade's own “integrated terminal”, where you can stop it, if you don't find it, the most normal thing will be to close and open
Anyway, look at a comment where I talk about updating, it may be that yours is out of date
- says that he will constantly correct something and does not correct it
5.1 - this is annoying for Kralho, and I couldn't get it 100%, but basically, create test rules
basically, through the rules, force the model to test everything it creates, before stopping or saying that it will do something else
5.2 - this may be due to some “initialization” that he is going to do to fix something, but this initialization of some code or tool or mcp does not start, for that, you will have to try to understand what is happening, and ask him to ignore this test and start another one or ask him to correct it differently
Normally these 2 tend to work, but I've already lost a lot of credit just adding continue until he succeeds, which also solved it, but it's not ideal
5.3 - starting a different model or restarting windsurfing may work
- model didn't understand the entire codebase
6.1 - the model does not read everything, only a part, optimize what you requested, mentioning specific files or folders
