Detachable Cascade Panel for Multi-Monitor Setups
Daniel Bräutigam
Would it be possible to make the Cascade panel in the Windsurf IDE detachable, so it can be opened as a separate modal window and moved to another screen?
On smaller laptop displays, the integrated layout can feel a bit cramped, especially when working with complex prompts or large codebases. Being able to move the Cascade panel to a second monitor would help maximize screen real estate and improve focus.

Yes, please. The UI is so cramped, I'm not even sure how everyone is dealing with this.
Cursor has it, although their implementation is a little clunky because you have to set the Chat to be an editor window instead of a pane, and sometimes you can't input text without moving the window around first.

Yup. 3 monitor user. This would be instrumental.

I can not read the code blocks in the Cascade panel. 1) the panel is narrow, so there is always a horizontal scroll bar 2) the font is tiny 3) I can not get Cascade to stop giving me large code blocks to go through, instead of a concise explanation what it proposes to change. Detachable panel would be a big help.

One thing I missed in Android Studio that I've never been able to use in VSCode and all its forks. Would be really nice to be able to do this, especially for Cascade.

I understand that this depends on the Base System as such, because in Intellij IDEA you can decouple and use the chat on another monitor.

We have asking for this for a long time but no traction:

I could also see this being useful for those that code on a monitor in portrait mode.

Jason Zondor Great idea!
